Seagull Software Achieves Vista Certification for BlueZone™ Terminal Emulator
ATLANTA - 13 March 2007
Seagull Software (AEX: SEAGULL), a leading provider of high-performance solutions that transform legacy business applications into service-oriented architecture (SOA) assets, announced that BlueZone Version 4.1 has achieved Windows Vista™ certification from Microsoft®. Microsoft’s Vista certification program is designed to ensure that third-party software applications operating on Windows Vista meet specific technical requirements.
Microsoft designed its Windows Vista Quality Program to improve the end user experience with third-party software applications in four areas: security, compatibility with Vista, installs and uninstalls, and reliability. Being one of the first companies to have an application certified for Microsoft Windows Vista demonstrates Seagull’s commitment to the Microsoft platform. BlueZone was previously certified on Windows XP.
"The Certified for Windows Vista logo assures customers that BlueZone 4.1takes advantage of the enhanced manageability and productivity features within the new operating platform," said Steve Bireley, vice president product development. "Products that carry the Certified for Windows Vista logo can give customers confidence that they will have the best experience with Windows Vista," Bireley continued.
“Hundreds of enterprises are making the switch from older terminal emulators to BlueZone because it offers remarkable price/performance, and a broad range of deployment options that give our customers complete flexibility and adaptability,” said Jeremy Sharp, vice president of sales for Seagull Software’s BlueZone business unit. “Vista certification is important to our customers, and now BlueZone has met the stringent Microsoft Windows Vista certification requirements.” Seagull Software saves BlueZone customers 50 to 80 percent on a 3-year total cost of terminal emulator ownership –- amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars per year for many enterprises.
BlueZone is one of several application access and integration solutions from Seagull Software. The company specializes in non-invasive solutions for transforming domain-rich legacy applications into Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) assets. Because all BlueZone customers are actively using legacy applications, they are also ideal candidates for Seagull Software’s LegaSuite® integration, GUI and workflow solutions, and appreciate having a single vendor partner for all of their legacy access requirements. BlueZone 4.1 is scheduled for general availability in April 2007.
