How would you summarize the BlueZone Access Server (BZAS) product?
BlueZone Access Server is a 3-tier web-to-host access solution providing secure, browser based terminal emulation, using both thin clients and pure HTML rendering of green screens. A sophisticated, but easy to use management interface allows granular control over user authentication, configuration, resource allocations and access.
How is BZAS different from BlueZone Web-to-Host?
BlueZone Access Server is a 3-tier solution which means that all of the emulation sessions are run over a server. The terminal screens are sent to a browser-based viewer over HTTP or persistent TCPIP sockets using a proprietary protocol. Sessions are always connected through the server.
BlueZone Web-to-Host is a two-tier solution and the server is only used for deployment, management and launching of sessions. Once the session is running, the server is no longer required.
When would you choose BZAS over BlueZone Web-to-Host?
We recommend the purchase of BZAS versus BlueZone when:
- A small client size is critical
- The connection must run over the HTTP protocol due to network security policy
- Users need access from public computers (HTML emulation)
- Zero footprint is required (HTML)
- You need 3-tier architecture to prevent direct telnet access to the host computer system
- HTTP printing is a necessary function
When would you choose BlueZone over BZAS?
We recommend the purchase of BlueZone Web-to-Host versus BZAS:
- Where full-featured emulation is required that is equivalent to other thick-client emulators
- Almost any thick client replacement
- Where a middle-tier server is undesirable for reliability, management or performance reasons and the customer does not want to spend money on multiple servers for clustering
